چکیده

Two microwave-induced plasma reactors are being investigated. As first approach, a small scale plasma reactor (100 300 ml/min) so-called Surfatron is studied to gain insight into gas/plasma phase reactions. A parametric study of various key gas phase reactions is being performed. Furthermore, an up-scaled plasma reactor (100 l/min) will be utilized to understand the needs towards developing an industrial scale plasma reactor for chemical synthesis. Primary results from the small scale plasma reactor are shown.

Effect of Discharge Gases on Microwave Plasma Reactions of Imidazole on Poly(dimethylsiloxane) Surfaces: Quantitative ATR FT-IR Spectroscopic Analysis

Although our recent studies revealed that under Ar microwave plasma conditions reactions of imidazole with poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) result in the formation of Si-CH2-imidazole species, the issue of the discharge gas effect on microwave plasma reactions remain unanswered. This study examines how these reactions in the presence of Ar, O2, and CO2 gases under microwave plasma conditions will ...

Surface Modification of Silicone Rubber Membrane by Microwave Discharge to Improve Biocompatibility

Wetability of biocompatible polymers can be improved by plasma surface modification. The purpose of this study was to surface modify an experimental poly (dimethylsiloxane) rubber (PDMS) material in order to improve its wetability and biocompatibility. Surface properties of the PDMS were characterized using contact angles measurement for wetability analysis. Samples of experimental silico...

Ab initio (first principle) material modeling study on Lio adsorbed by palladium-cobalt (PdCo) nanoparticles

PdCo subnanoalloys have been commonly used as a catalytic material in some important chemicalreactions, involving in fisher-tropsch reactions, and oxygen reduction reactions. In terms ofunderstanding the role of catalysis, these smallest bimetallic nanoparticles provide the simplestprototypes of Pd-Co bimetallic catalysts for different compositions. In this study, the effect o...

Effect of MgAl2O4 catalyst support synthesis method on the catalytic activity of nickel Nano catalyst in reverse water gas shift reaction

In this research effect of synthesis method of magnesium aluminate as support of Ni catalysts at the reverse water gas shift (RWGS) reaction was evaluated. The RWGS reaction is applied in Carbon Dioxide Hydrogenation to Form Methanol via a Reverse Water-Gas Shift Reaction (CAMERE) process for the transformation of CO2 into methanol. The MgAl2O4 supports were prepared by sol-gel (M1), surfactant...
